There is NO replacement for my exact model at this time.Total Waste. Ordered this to replace the one that fell off and got lost for my camera, it was the wrong size, specifically put my exact model in and this is the one they sent me.
This cap works on it too. (Just need one of those cap-strap things so I don't loose it).P.S.I also have the Tiffen UF Protector filter 58mm that I was using on the camcorder before the Hoya. (BTW, the Tiffen filter showed signs of diamond flaring so that's why I bought the Hoya.). Bought it to protect my Hoya HMC UV(C) filter 58mm, which is protecting my Canon HF-S100. Works perfectly.
The len cap itself is in good condition; however, the packaging is simple and cheap, in a small stabled plastic bag, which made me wonder how Canon could sell its product like this.
There are still many dedicated users of the Pro1 out there and the entire lens design with easily falling off cap and no teather has left many of us with a camera we love and no cap. There is a special filter adaptor for the Pro1 lens which this cap can fit over, so if you have the adaptor, this 58mm cap works when both are used, I now found out that the Pro1 camera's actuaul lens had a unique cap (the design that came with the camera) due to the hybrid design of the lens - that is mostly unavailable (Jan 2010) though would have been about $17 if you can find it. This 58U is too big.
After days searching the web, I could not find in fact which one does fit this camera as I also lost my cap for this camera. Well, got me, you can't assume anything with Amazon's automated recommended product system as useful as it can be. This lens cap does not fit the Canon PowerShot Pro1 camera.
It is not the E-52U or 55U either for the mentioned camera. Like it or not, Canon never really supported the Pro1 that was so popular and took them over the edge in Prosumer digital cameras. I ordered this E-58U authentic Canon cap (Ultrasonic) and lost my money (in US, not even worth paying return shipping) with a useless cap.
When one browses the PowerShot Pro1 Amazon returns this lens cap size (according to related purchasesand what is purchased together with the camera - not as a spec).
Happy that this lens cap is exactly like the one I lost off my Canon SLRCanon E-58U 58mm Snap-On Accessory Lens Cap
